Public Vet Appointment Registration Policies & Terms
Thank you for choosing Public Vet for your pet's care. Please review the following policies carefully before registering for an appointment. Your registration and pre-payment indicate acceptance of these terms.
1. Appointment Registration
- Use our online form to reserve a spot at one of our mobile spay/neuter clinics.
- Completing this registration form reserves your appointment once your payment is processed.
- The clinic address and confirmation details will be sent via email after booking. Please note the time and location from that confirmation. It will not be displayed elsewhere.
2. Deposit and Payment
- A non-refundable $10 deposit per appointment slot is required at registration.
- The deposit will be applied toward your total surgery cost at the clinic.
- This deposit ensures attendance and helps us manage limited clinic space efficiently.
3. Surgery Pricing
- Cats: Spay/neuter surgery is $100 per cat. After your $10 deposit, $90 is due at the clinic.
- Dogs: Surgeries begin at $150. Final cost depends on size and sex. Visit pub.vet/calculator for an estimate. Dog services are only available in select areas.
- If you have a voucher covering full surgery costs, please contact us or use the financial aid link to request a coupon code that removes the $10 deposit requirement.
4. Financial Assistance
- If cost is a barrier, you may apply for financial assistance before or after booking.
- Apply here: Public Vet Financial Aid Applications.
- Please apply at least 3 days before the clinic you wish to attend.
- Deposits made prior to approval cannot be refunded.
5. Check-In and Discharge Procedures
- Check-in begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. local time.
- Expect to spend about one hour checking in.
- All animals must remain in your vehicle during check-in; our staff will come to you.
- You will receive a pickup time, same day, during check-in. Animals do not stay overnight.
- Discharge generally occurs before 7:00 p.m. the same day. The exact time will be announced at check-in.
6. Animal Care & Equipment Requirements
Cats
- Must arrive in a clean, secure carrier or live trap with two large clean towels. The carrier must be large enough for your cat to lay flat comfortably inside.
- Loose cats or broken carriers are not permitted.
- Cardboard carriers are available for purchase at the clinic for $15, limited supply.
- Feral cats are accepted only if someone assumes ownership responsibility after surgery.
- If you feed a cat for more than four days, you are considered the owner.
- Every cat must have an owner/caretaker to ensure proper post-surgical care.
- If you are bringing multiple cats, please label each carrier with the animal's name.
Dogs
- Must be brought in a crate or secure carrier with two large clean towels.
- An E-collar is required post-surgery. Limited quantities may be available for purchase at the clinic.
7. Tattoo Identification Policy
- Tattooing is a mandatory part of Public Vet's spay/neuter service.
- All animals receive a "PV" tattoo in the left ear.
- Female animals also receive a small belly tattoo to indicate they have been spayed.
- These tattoos help prevent unnecessary future surgeries and ensure veterinary staff can identify already-altered pets.
- Do not register if you do not consent to this tattoo policy.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
- The $10 deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances, including missed appointments.
- If you can no longer attend, please cancel in advance so another pet may take your spot. If you cancel ahead of time, we can provide a deposit transfer code so that you may retain your deposit for a future appointment.
